"I should be king." he said, his voice throaty and angry, his teeth bared. But it obviously wasn't at the young cub. "I groomed that pride, they should have fought Simba and they should have won." he said, seething with anger, his eyes focused on the ground for a few moments before closing tightly.
The sharp, piercing emerald reopened. "So, you say my pride is gone, hmm? That they live in the Outlands? Take me there, Kovu." he said, showing the last ace he had up his sleeve and showing to Kovu that he knew exactly who he was, and by proxy was exactly who Kovu thought he was.

Kovu unsheathed his foreclaws, and he began to anxiously knead Namine's shoe beneath his forepaws, unaware that he was doing it. His tail flicked, his large ears swiveling forward as the other lion spoke outloud about the pride; if they could have fought Simba and won, then why hadn't his mother returned to the Pride Lands and done so? Of course, Kovu didn't know what it'd entail for the Outlanders to return, never mind the penalty for being seen again in Simba's territory.
"So, you say my pride is gone, hmm?" At this, Kovu quickly nodded, but when he heard that this lion wanted Kovu to lead him to the Outlands, he dug his claws in deep to Namine's shoe, and he shook his head. "Take you there..? I, I can't.. I don't.." Kovu looked round the area, searching for something that wasn't there. He didn't know how he had arrived here, never mind how he could leave.
Looking down to this forepaws, he studied the shoe between his paws thoughtfully for a moment, and turned his attention back to the other lion. "..I don't know how I got here." The last thing he wanted to do, was to go back home with a strange lion, and be a part of the meeting- or actually, the reunion, of Zira and his adoptive father.
"...How did you get here, stranger..??

She watched the two lions as they conversed with each other, and it seemed as though they were related somehow. She didn't really try to follow what they were talking about, because this was their business, and she had no part of it. That, and she had other things that were pressing on her mind at the moment.
She had somehow been separated from Kairi, and when she thought back, there was nothing that stood out to her as so demanding that she needed to be in her own body. In fact, the only thing that had happened since Sora, Kairi, and Riku had returned to the island was that they received a letter from the King, which told them about a possible new danger. After that, everything was blank and she wound up in her own body on the Islands. And why had she chosen to come here first, of all places, for answers? It didn't make much sense.
Her mind snapped back to reality when she felt Kovu kneading her sandals, and she looked down at the small lion cub with a frown. She missed the entire conversation between him and Scar, but from what she had just picked up on, Kovu was really nervous because of the older lion. Blue orbs looked up towards the other lion, a thoughtful expression on her face. The two looked exactly the same, but they were so different. One seemed more bent on revenge, the other more passive.
Naminé froze when Kovu suddenly asked about her, and she looked back down to him again. "Me?" she asked, as if she hadn't heard him right, "I came here myself. I was... Separated from someone close to me not too long ago." Her eyes flashed to Scar for a moment, before looking back at Kovu, "I'm looking for someone who can give me some answers to what happened."
She was well aware that she could be confusing the two lions, but if she were to dive into her story about how she actually wasn't a human and she was without a heart inside, that would only make them more confused. She looked around the jungle again, finding it a bit odd that there were no other animals around. She shrugged it off, figuring that they were just in an area where not a lot of animals lived. Besides, it seemed as though the two lions had somewhere they needed to go, and if she helped them, maybe it'd bring her closer to finding out what happened to her Somebody.
"What about you? Have anywhere you have to go? [/blockquote]
